Duchess wandered into the barn of a wonderful family in Loveland, cold, wet, dirty, and exhausted, she slept as if dead. Too exhausted to barely eat and not clearly sure what dog food was for she finally managed to eat a little. A vet's exam revealed embedded dewclaws, an abscessfrom a possible bullet wound and complete lack of vision in one eye and next to none in the other. Despite all this, Duchess is one of the most loving pyrenees you could ever hope to meet. She is fully capable of caring for herself with very little help. She walks well on a leash and hops right in to a car for a ride (helping to drive if allowed). She quickly learned how to use a dog door. Dushess appears to be spayed, 7-8 years old, and housebroken. Duchess would flourish in a compassionate home by herself . She will be with PYRescue all her remaining life if such a home is not found.
