Chancy is a beautiful Pyrenees mix that is approximately 9 months old and roughly 60lbs. We are currently trying to get Chancy to fill out and I would expect her to be a big dog once full grown. Chancy is a very sweet girl who craves love. She has beautiful dark eyes and looks at you longingly for love and attention. She has been known to actually wrap her front paw around your leg and hug you while you are showing her attention. Chancy’s original owner abruptly found himself in a position where he was not able to care for Chancy and we were attempting to foster her. Although she is extremely sweet and intelligent we are unable to contain her on our open 5 acres. Most of the time she does extremely well and hangs around the property with our other dog, horses and goats but she has been known to leave the property when she sees something interesting. That all being said with the amount of time she stays I have no doubt she could learn to respect her borders with time and proper training. Chancy is very food motivated and could be trained with her favorite treat Cheezits. Chancy gets along well with other dogs. We had a bunch of people over at our place on the 4th of July and Chancy enjoyed freely roaming with the other dogs and getting attention from guests. Chancy loves to play with toys and wrestle with other dogs but she also enjoys nap time outside in a shady spot on the cool concrete. Chancy spends the nights kenneled in our out building. I think Chancy would do great with a home with a fenced property/backyard, or someone with experience with this breed who is looking for a LGD. The only two issues I could say would be since she is very food motivated if you leave anything out around her she is going to get it. Second one of our neighbors took her for a week to see if she would fit in with her animals and she told us she killed a couple of her chickens. She said Chancy did not eat the chickens, just got excited when they started to run and killed them trying to play with them. That being said we have chickens and ducks that free-range and she has not had any issue with ours. If you are getting Chancy as a LGD I would definitely keep an eye on the chicken integration until Chancy can prove herself trustworthy when alone with them. I believe the issue with the neighbor stemmed from inexperience on how to responsibly migrate animals.
